BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2021/22, Treasure Cove Casino contributed to the Prince George community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Handy Circle Resource Society

The Handy Circle Resource Society (HCRS) provides a resource centre for individuals with disabilities and special needs. In 2021/22, HCRS received a Community Gaming Grant of $73,000 from the Province of B.C. to increase support for people with disabilities and special needs in Prince George. 

HCRS supports clients navigate forms for housing, transportation, disability parking and medical to support its clients in achieving their goals for independent living. 

Coldsnap Winter Music Festival

Coldsnap Winter Music Festival

For Prince George residents, the Coldsnap Winter Music Festival is a favourite way to beat the winter blues.

Coldsnap is a unique cultural event lighting up winter in Prince George. After months of careful deliberation, consultation and consideration of Provincial Health Orders, the Prince George Folkfest Society planned an exciting, safe and comfortable live music festival in January 2022. 

BCLC is a proud supporter of the Coldsnap Festival in Prince George, year after year. 

Prince George Public Library

Bob Harkins Branch of Prince George Public Library

In 2018, the City of Prince George allocated over $2.4 million of its share of provincial gaming revenue for hosting Treasure Cove Casino to fund events and facility upgrades. Among the investments was $164,000 for the renovation of the Bob Harkins Branch of Prince George Public Library. The project includes a new entrance, improved stairs and a new circulation area, representing an addition of 2.5 storeys on the north side of the building, which is expected to be completed in 2020.

The Prince George Hospice Society provides specialized end-of-life care in the warm home-like atmosphere for families in Prince George. Sponsorship by Treasure Cove Casino supports the Society’s operation of the Prince George Hospice House, a ten-bed facility providing bedside care, grief support and educational services.
