BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

Community Investment Program
In 2022, the City of Port Alberni allocated a portion of its provincial gambling revenue from hosting RimRock Casino to its Community Investment Program, which provided assistance to 41 non-profit community organizations, events and programs that improve the quality of life for residents.
One of the events that received support was the annual Alberni District Fall Fair, which celebrated its belated 75th anniversary in 2022, after being delayed as a result of the pandemic. Families from all over the Alberni Valley flocked to the event to enjoy the midway, livestock, and entertainment.
The Community Investment Program also helped support Special Olympics BC, cold weather supports and pop-up warming centres for unhoused individuals, as well as Pride celebrations.
Meals on Wheels Port Alberni Sponsorship
Meals on Wheels Port Alberni is a not-for-profit organization committed to delivering wholesome meals to seniors, as well as those living with chronic illness, disabilities, or recovering from medical treatment. RimRock Casino prepares over 200 meals weekly, which are delivered five days a week by community volunteers.
Did you know?
RimRock Casino works with many local vendors, including Aines & Tyler, Circle Dairy, Bowerman Excavation, Tilley’s Trucking, and Alberni Valley Refrigeration. In 2022, RimRock Casino made donations to Alberni Community & Women’s Services, Alberni Valley Child Care and the Salvation Army which help the community’s most vulnerable.
