Adding and Editing a Page

This page shows the basics of how to add  a general page and how to get to a page's edit mode.

Please note that adding an article is a different process from creating a regular page. The instructions here on how to create a new page are for general pages only. However, the editing a page section applies to all pages (including articles).

If you wish to create an article page instead, see here.

Adding a Page

The following demonstrates how to create a new page. At this time, please contact a power user when attempting to add a new page.

1. Click on Adobe Experience Manager on the top left corner of the page

2. Select Sites

3. Find and select the parent page or folder that you want to create a page in (be sure not to check the box next to the name; just have it highlighted)

Note: As an example, if you want to create a new “Our History” page within About Us, About Us would be the parent page.

See here for more information on page organization and levels.

4. Click Create on the top right corner of the page and select Page

5. On the Template page, select a template based on the page being created (pick one beginning with “Page –“, NOT “Article –“), then Next in the top right corner

Note: As an example, if your parent page is a L1, your new page will be an L2. The new page will always be one level lower than the parent page. See here to learn more about the available templates.

6. On the Properties page, input the page name in the Title text field, then click Create in the top right corner

7. When the Success window appears, select Done

Editing a Page

The following demonstrates how to get to the edit mode of a page where components can then be changed, or a page can start to be built.

1. Click on Adobe Experience Manager on the top left corner of the page

2. Select Sites

3. Find and open the respective folder for the page you wish to edit

4. Select the page you are editing by clicking on the icon left of the page title

5. Once selected, the action bar on the top will change, look for Edit and select it

6. A new window will appear with the page opened. Ensure you are in edit mode by selecting Edit on the top right corner of the page.

  • Any changes made on the edit mode are automatically saved, however they must be published in order for the changes to be viewable by the public.

Note: Page contents may look improperly spaced while viewing in edit mode. For a more accurate representation, click Preview on the top right corner of the screen and refresh the page.

Preview mode is closer but still not exact. To view the page as if on production, please contact an administrator for more information.
